The ECO UV disinfection system contains three major segments - Control Cabinets, Reactors and Control systems. The details of each are presented below.
Control Cabinet
Completely and environmentally sealed (Heat Pump Heat Removal Utilization).
Advantages:
Designed to meet explosion-proof standards.
Dust, insects, moisture and corrosive contaminants are not drawn into the cabinet; cabinet remains clean & dry inside.
Stainless Steel only Construction.
Safety AC Power Interlocks used on door system (Protection).
Intuitive Human Machine Interface display panel (HMI). Visual and easy to understand display of operational status.
Reactor
Modular Approach – Unique reactor design that allows for complete and quick removal of entire reactor from both the electrical and piping network.
Advantages:
IP67 Reactor & control Cabinet electrical connections, Unions (Model R4) and Tri-Clamp (Model R2) piping connections.
Allows for convenient off-site maintenance and/or storage of reactors removed from service.
Additional on-shelf reactor(s) can quickly & easily be put into service to replace reactors previously removed for service or repairs (minimizes downtime).
Safety & Protection – UV lamp shuts down if electrical cap is removed during operation; lamp will not start up unless electrical cap is correctly closed.
Assembly/ disassembly (maintenance etc.) performed mostly by hand – minimal tools required.
Stainless Steel grade 316 only used (Models R2 & R4), except for model R3 (HPDE) – corrosion resistance (Salt Water) – future model.
Control Systems
A number of versions of controllers are available or planned for the system ranging from very simple local control panels to multi-terminal versions.
The simplest S0 controller displays the state of the system on multi-coloured LEDS and uses touch-buttons for control input. The controller can be configured to support one or two lamps, and supports start-stop flow control.
If more control over a system is required, the S2 controller displays system state on a 32 character multi-background colour LCD text display and provides ten push-buttons for display control and control input. This controller can be configured to control one to six lamps, and also optionally supports flow-paced control of the UV dosage.
If control over the system is required from remote locations then the S3 Controller provides for up to four GUI displays controlled using a touch-screen or mouse and connected via a local Ethernet LAN. A local display is provided on a GUI touch panel and remote display programs are provided for Windows or Linux operating systems. This system can support languages other than English, can be configured to support up to twelve lamps, and has multiple other configurations items. It has control over remote access security. A mechanism is in place to ensure that only one display has system control at any one time.
